If you go through filters quickly, the Smoke Filter with Replaceable Cartridges is cheaper over a year, because you replace the cartridge rather than the whole device. Why a filter beats a spray
A spray covers a smell after it has spread. A filter stops it at the source. Use both if you like: a filter for the exhale, and the Odor Eliminating Spray for what is already in the room.
How well it works, honestly
It handles the exhale, which in a shared space is most of the problem. It does nothing about what comes off the bowl while it burns, and no filter of this type does. Open a window as well.

When do I replace a cartridge? When the draw starts to feel restricted or the smell starts getting past it. Both mean the media is full.
How do I make the degradable filter last? Lay it on its side between uses so the media can dry out. Take the silicone band and mouthpiece off before you compost it.
