Prepare the Following Ingredients

Be sure to have the following ingredients ready before getting started

  • A suitable number of gummy molds
  • A pitcher of water
  • Unflavored gelatin
  • Flavored gelatin of your choice
  • Herbal infused coconut oil
  • Liquid or powdered lecithin

Keep in mind that the amount of each ingredient you require will depend on the number of gummies you wish to make.

Before Getting Started

Before getting down and dirty with the ingredients, remember to prepare your gummy molds for use. You will need to spray them with a non-stick oil. If you are unsure which oil to use, coconut oil is a great recommendation as it does the job without making your molds too slippery to hold onto.

If you wish to protect your kitchen surfaces from getting too oily, you may also opt to place your gummy molds on baking trays.

Start Preparing Your Gummies

  • Combine the ingredients and boil

Pour the water, infused herbal oil and lecithin into a saucepan and start boiling. Once the ingredients have been fused successfully, turn up the heat. It’s now time to add in the unflavored gelatin while you continue whisking. Again, once you have a smooth mixture, the flavored gelatin goes in next.

  • Set on low heat

Keep whisking on low heat once everything has been blended successfully. At this point, you should make sure that the mixture is no longer boiling.

  • Fill your molds with the mixture

With your mixture still on low heat, it will continue bubbling and getting thicker by the minute. Before it has the chance to thicken too much, grab your molds and fill them up quickly.

  • Allow molds to cool down and harden

Now that you have filled out each mold, allow them some time to harden. This can be achieved by placing them in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. After that time has passed, take the molds out and gently prod your gummies. If they have thickened sufficiently, you can remove them from the mold and prepare for storage.

  • Store your gummies for consumption

Satisfied that your gummies are hard enough?Ppop them out of the molds and store them properly. Whether they are meant for consumption at home or to bring out and about with you, airtight containers and storage tubes can help to keep them fresher for longer!
